The second edition of the AISC Seismic Design Manual includes hundreds of pages of detailed design examples, including connections, updated for the 2010 AISC Seismic Provisions. It presents Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and Allowable Strength Design (ASD) methods side by side. It includes a new chapter on analysis and expanded connection design examples, covering panel zone detailing and options for brace-to-beam and brace-to-column connections. It also expands the discussion of collector elements and presents a more economical design methodology, new examples of buckling-restrained braced frames, and new chapters on composite moment frames and composite braced frames. The manual includes two standards: the 2010 Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 341-10) and the 2010 Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications, with Supplement No. 1 (ANSI/AISC 358-10 and ANSI/AISC 358s1-11).
